Dear Parents,
I would just like to take the time to introduce myself since I will be student teaching in Ms. Reed’s class this semester. My name is Megan Sutherland and I am currently a senior in the Elementary Education Program at Indiana University Southeast. I am from Louisville, Kentucky where I graduated from Butler Traditional High School in 2009. I will graduate from IUS in December with teaching certifications in Indiana and Kentucky. In addition to my academic activities, I was a member of the softball team for four years. My love for softball has led me to being an assistant softball coach at North Bullitt High School. I am very excited to have the opportunity to student teach in your child’s classroom this semester!
Throughout my time at IUS, I have had a wide variety of experiences that have helped me prepare for this. I have worked with students in a kindergarten, first, fourth, and fifth grade classroom during my practicum experiences.
Each classroom contains unique students with different experiences, and my semester of student teaching will not be any different. I have enjoyed each experience along the way and am very much looking forward to getting to know and learn from your child!
Sincerely,
Megan Sutherland
